History of Sironga Girls since 1968

Sironga Girls at Bogichora Ward in West Mugirango Constituency within Nyamira County was founded in 1968 by local leaders.

Founders include Pastor Johnson Ageki Mainda Omenge and Mr. Peterson Meroka.

Other schools founded about the same time are Nyabururu Girls, Kereri Girls, and Ichuni Girls.

The iconic Sironga Girls sits, about 25 kilometers northwest of Kisi town and about 6 kilometers south of Nyamira town, along the busy Kisii-Kericho highway.

Alumna and administrators

Formerly a principal at Tombe Girls, Mrs. Jane Nyanumba is the new principal at Sironga Girls.

She succeeded Chief Principal Eve Akeyo Odhiambo who transferred to Kisumu Girls.

Previous administrators include Mrs Hellen Nyabuto; current staff Members include Jambo News founder Dennis Nyamwembe.

Others include John Bikondo, George Momanyi, Paul Onsomu Asuma, Mrs. Makworo, and Mrs. Norah Momanyi.
