History of Maranda High School
Maranda High School located approximately 5 kilometers from Bondo town in Siaya County, Kenya, was founded in 1919 by Shadrack Osewe Agot, a divinity teacher from Kapiyo village.
Raila Odingaโs grandfather Amolo Odinga alleged offered land for the establishment of the institution.
Mr Shadrack Osewe initially erected a house and a church on the site which he proposed for seclusion and work.
In 1926, the Church Missionary Society facilitated the construction of a boarding school which would become Maranda School.
