Alumna and history of Machakos School
Machakos School previously occupying Machakos Girls grounds was founded in 1915 as a Boys’ Primary School.
In 1939, it was upgraded to a boy’s secondary school, eventually becoming a mixed school in 1946.
In 1950, the founding administrator Mr. Martin oversaw the separation of Machakos Boys and Machakos Girls from Machakos Mixed School.
Principal Crowford oversaw the boy’s school until 1954. In 1965, the Africa Inland Church took over sponsoring the institution.
Rapid expansion caused it to relocate from a site near Scott Theological College to the current premises.
Machakos School located about 3 kilometers north of Machakos University has since been elevated to a National School.
Rugby, football, badminton, handball, and table tennis are some of the most played games at the institution.
