Menyenya S.D.A High School founded in 1975 by the Seventh‑day Adventist Church community is among the most prosperous secondary schools in Nyamira County.
The mixed-boarding extra-County school is located in Borabu Sub-County, near Nyansiongo/Kijauri along the busy Kisii–Bomet Highway.
Establishment of the institution was reportedly necessitated by acute shortage of secondary school education in the region.
Founders among them the clergy and local residents contributed resources to start the faith‑based learning institution.
Further sources indicate that the land on which the school stands was acquired from a British settler by the Menyenya Co‑operative Society.
The settler’s house initially served multiple purposes, housing administrative offices, classrooms, and student dormitories.
