Kagumo High School located in Nyeri County was founded in 1933 by the British colonialist as a teachers training college.

The initial plan was to train African as educators in mission and government schools.

In 1949, Kagumo TTC was repurposed into a secondary school following a rising demand by the locals.

The school mission ‘To provide high quality education for molding and producing exemplary leadership to society.’
